Call Of Duty: Mobile The Latest Addition in the Franchise
Tencent gaming and Timi studios with Game developer Activision have released the Free-to-Play mobile version of the extremely popular Call of Duty franchise. This is the latest COD game until Activision releases their game for consoles and PC on 25th October 2019. COD Mobile Released on 1st October 2019 and broke record with over 100 million downloads on Android and IOS. The successful launch of the game is an indicator of how mobile gaming has become a high-interest market. After the release of the PUBG’s Mobile version, no other game was close to toppling the success of the BattleRoyale Game PUBG. COD Mobile has been out for a couple of weeks now and it does not look like it’s going to stop.
When you first log in to the game you get the game tutorial which lets you adjust to the game a little bit. After that comes levelling up. There are different modes to choose from. You can play normal multiplayer 5v5. When you achieve level 7 on your account(which takes roughly 5 to 6 games), the option to play BattleRoyale mode opens up. After reaching level 10 Ranked Multiplayer mode is available. Levelling up in this game is an essential part of the game as you unlock more weapons and attachments of weapons.
The Multiplayer mode of the COD mobile version is quite similar to the main console and pc versions. There are multiple modes within the Multiplayer to choose from such as team deathmatch, capture the flag and so on. COD mobile brings back maps from the main games as early as COD 4. Multiplayer maps available right now on the mobile version are as follows:
- Crash – Map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
- Crossfire – Map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
- Killhouse – Map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
- Firing Range – Map from Call of Duty: Black Ops
- Hijacked – Map from Call of Duty: Black Ops
- Nuketown – Map from Call of Duty: Black Ops
- Standoff – Map from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
Battle Royale mode of the COD Mobile is the most worked upon feature of the game. The overall premise of the mode is similar to all other Battle Royal games. 100 people are put in 1 server and must battle it out to stay alive at the end with the map closing up. The difference in the BattleRoyale mode is the inclusion of different classes, Zombies and Monsters.
Every class has 2 abilities, one passive and one activatable. The different classes in the BattleRoyale are as follows:
Passive Ability: Increased resistance towards every damage type except for bullets.
Ability: Can place Shields for defence.
Passive Ability: Players get a highlighted sight and can see Vehicles, Traps and other mechanical equipment.
Ability: Calls an EMP drone which locates a closeby enemy or squadron and creates an Electromagnetic interference around them.
Passive Ability: Can track the footprints of other squadrons who have recently been there.
Ability: Can use a sensor on a targeted area on the map (close range, not the entire map)to check if there are hostiles there.
Passive Ability: Clowns can get a little closer to the zombies without them attacking the clown.
Ability: Throws a toy Bomb which summons zombies in that area.
Passive Ability: Reduced revival time and faster healing.
Ability: Creates a healing station where allies can heal up.
Passive Ability: There is no footstep sound.
Ability: Throws a grappling hook which can attach to buildings and propel ninja towards the targeted building or object.
